Georgian prop Davit Zirakashvili was back on form for Clermont Auvergne in their Heineken Cup quarter final against Leicester this weekend.
Now in his 10th season in the Massif Central, Georgian tighthead prop Davit Zirakashvili is one of their longest serving players and continues to be a mainstay in the Clermont team and feature in many important matches for les Jaunards.
Zirakashvili has had his ups and downs in form in recent times, but he had a good outing during the Heineken Cup quarter final against Leicester, playing his part in creating a try for Wesley Fofana and earning praise from the commentators as he helped his side to extend their winning streak at the Stade Marcel Michelin to 75 consecutive matches.
Sky Sports pundit Stuart Barnes remarked that he had a "monumental game" for his club and that "in the tight, lineout drives, scrummaging, passes for tries, he's been brilliant". Whilst Clermont captain Aurélien Rougerie said he was "un pilier aux mains d'argent" and Midi Olympique named him in their team of the week.
